This one alluded me for some time. I know my girlfriend (now my wife) and saw James Taylor live at Great Woods (now Xfinity Center) and I know it was in the 90s. All I remembered was that Marvin Hamlisch performed with him and was the opener as well.

I found an 1995 Hartford Courant article talking about Great Woods shows that season that said “James Taylor, appearing July 14 with the Pittsburgh Symphony Pops Orchestra conducted by Marvin Hamlisch,” so this HAS to be it.

All I know is that James Taylor is awesome. I remember the show being great – and our first dance at our wedding was a James Taylor classic.

My one and only time sitting in the lawn section of Great Woods/Comcast Center/Tweeter Center/Xfinity Center.
