I can now say I’ve seen the “Big 4” of American Metal. An old friend from college posted on Facebook, “I have tickets to Slayer through work. I’m curious to check them out – anyone interested?” I immediately messaged him. I’m in!

He had two extra tickets so I got my cousin to drive down and come with us.

The opening acts were Lamb of God and Behemoth. I know Lamb of God are pretty popular in the metal world, but they’re just not my thing. And I thought Behemoth sounded like a lawnmower running. Just nonsensical noise.

Thank heavens for Slayer…
