In 1996, my brother and I saw KISS with my brother’s good friend Lance. Twenty-nine years later, I saw original KISS member, the Spaceman himself – Ace Frehley. Of course my brother was with me. Of course Dave was with me. Concert regular Rich was back again – and well look at that, Lance also met us there!

What was also cool was seeing my friend Mike there. We’ve come across each other at a Maiden show, a Ghost show, and at Faith No More (where I swear remember him first telling me about Ghost). We’ve also gone to the Darkness in upstate New York with my cousins.

When I found out he was going, I made sure to track him down in the crowd – which isn’t that hard to do at Tupelo. He was about 8 people away from me.

Ace was…what I expected from Ace. He couldn’t really sing – but he never good. He can still play but he plays sloppy – and he always has. And he played 95% KISS songs – so it was easy to sing along.

I had a blast! And the band he surrounded himself with was good. Those guys were able to sing a few songs that Ace wouldn’t dare try.
