Okay, so I am totally in on the Murderbot Diaries now! Our favorite SecUnit returns to learn a little more about his past, while helping a few people along the way – and making a new friend in the form of a cargo ship.

Yes, part of this book felt like a buddy comedy between a robot and a spaceship. And their love of television.

What I enjoy about the style of this book is there is a lot of “world jargon” – and by that I mean there’s a lot of terminology used that would make sense if you’ve living your entire life in this universe. For us just discovering it, we just have to keep up. Things are not spelled out or overly explained.

Why would Murderbot feel the need do to that?

It’s up to the reader to make sense of it – and I mean that as a big compliment. It treats us like we’re smart enough to get it. And I think I am?

Either way, I look forward to continuing this series and then watching the Apple TV+ show as well. I’m not going to read them all back-to-back though, but look forward to seeing more Murderbot on this blog in the coming months.
