What Mike's Reading

Last month, my wife and I went to Florida to visit her mom. Whenever we go down there, we like to hit a few thrift stores – and that first night we took a drive to a nearby Goodwill. I always go straight to the books, and wouldn’t you know it – I found one that looked like something I’d read.

And I just finished reading it tonight! This is my first venture into the literary world of Christopher Moore, but I think it won’t be my last. I am fairly certain I at least want to read the follow-up to this series (but then I read that some of these characters are in other books so maybe I’ll eventually read them all??)

I think I liked this book, but didn’t love it. Some of the rules of how things work in the world confused me (which could have been a “me” thing). Some of the humor I quite enjoyed, some didn’t land for me. But when we got to the end I was pretty invested in the story, the characters, and that ending made me want have to know what happens next.

Just not – next for me. But I am sure someday, you’ll more Christopher Moore books here.
