I just enjoy these books. The name Kevin J. Anderson was familiar to me, but it wasn’t until I found his Batman/Superman Cold War-era book at my library that I finally read him. That book was so good that I started looking more into him. He writes a ton of Dune books and Star Wars books – and just a ton of books in general!
One series that caught my eye was about a zombie private investigator. Well, that seemed right up my alley. This may be the first of that series that I’ve posted to this blog – but it’s the 10th in the series that I’ve read over the past couple years.
They. Are. Just. Fun. The mysteries are okay, and even if I see a lot of coming, I just don’t care. And I don’t always see everything – or sometimes anything – coming. But I really don’t read these for the mystery as much as I read them for the characters. He’s built a family of “Unnaturals” that are more than just work colleagues and it’s like visiting with friends every time I read the next book.
Add on top of that the plain silliness of the world around them – and the never-ending puns that KJA works into the stories and I’ll be a reader for as long as they keep coming out. I have three more left (so far) and I even heard there was a television show in the works!
I’ve read these all as ebooks, buying some through Amazon and some directly through his website. I swear I bought this one, but I didn’t see it in my library or on my laptop. Thankfully, it was on Kindle Unlimited.
The cases don’t solve themselves. Thankfully we have Dan Shamble…er I mean Dan Chambeaux on the case.
And the books don’t read themselves. Luckily they have people like me to take care of that part.
