What Mike's Reading

I read the first two of this series earlier this year, back-to-back and finally got to this one – the most recent entry (though a fourth book is coming at the end of the year). These are quick/fun reads. Somewhat horror, somewhat sci-fi. There’s always enough in there where I’m like, “Ooh that’s where they’re going next, I’m in!” though this one almost felt like a, “I bet you thought that’s where we were going – but here’s this instead.”

It dealt a lot with AI tools that people use today and how people if could become dependent on them, what if there was something sinister controlling them? That was part of it – along with the overall ongoing story of two very different types of exorcists.

I wouldn’t say I am in love with this series, but it’s consistent and enjoyable and I’ll keep reading them.
