Enemy of My Enemy

A Daredevil Marvel Crime Novel

Started July 3, 2026

Author Alex Segura

I was not aware of this book, nor this series of Marvel Crime novels, before finding in on the shelf at my local public library. I picked it up, saw it was a fairly recent novel based in the Marvel Universe focusing on Deadpool? I’m in!

I’ve read some Daredevil comics, but my main point of reference is the Netflix (now Disney+) series that I was a huge fan of. So, when it came to picturing all the characters in my head – that world is where I went.

Except for Bullseye.

For him I pictured Colin Farrell. Even though I never saw that movie.

The basic gist of the story is – a major character in the Daredevil world is dead, and another major character is arrested for the crime. Of course, attorney Matt Murdock takes the case – while his alter ego (spoiler) of Daredevil tries to also get to the bottom of what really happened and deal with the aftermath of how it leaves Hell’s Kitchen.

The name Alex Segura is familiar to me, but I am not sure if I’ve ever read anything he’s written before. Going forward though, I am a fan and will be on the look out for stuff he’s worked on, both in and out of the Marvel world.

I really enjoyed this book, and not just because of the characters and world. I just enjoyed the unraveling of the mystery, the surprises along the way, and just enjoyed Segura’s style of writing.

There are two other books in this series, one of which is also at my library – so be prepared, because this is not the last Marvel Crime novel I’ll be reading this year.
